Applications are now open for the Integral Ecology Summer School 2026, a two-week programme primarily for Jesuits in formation, with additional places available for Jesuits who have taken final vows, as well as other religious and lay people seeking to deepen their commitment to integral ecology in a faith-based setting.
Taking place 1–14 August 2026, the Summer School invites participants into an inspiring journey of reflection, community, and ecological engagement. The first week, hosted at Campion Hall, University of Oxford, offers seminars, small-group discussions, shared prayer, and conversations with experts that explore the foundations of integral ecology and the call of Laudato Si’ to care for our common home.
The second week at Belmont Abbey in Herefordshire moves from study to embodied practice. Participants will take part in contemplative fieldwork, agro-ecological activities, and visits to farms and conservation sites, helping them connect ecological theory with lived experience. Time for personal reflection, communal discernment, and creative projects further supports a deepened ecological vocation.
By blending intellectual formation, spiritual grounding, and hands-on engagement, the Summer School equips participants to bring integral ecology into ministry, research, community leadership, and daily life with renewed clarity and conviction.
Applications close on 23 January 2026. Learn more and apply at iern.org/iess2026.
