Taking Laudato Si’ from concept to action.
August 1–14, 2026The Integral Ecology Summer School is a two-week programme designed to deepen our understanding and practice of Integral Ecology as outlined in the encyclical Laudato Si’.
About the Summer School
Organised by the Integral Ecology Research Network (IERN) and the Laudato Si’ Research Institute (LSRI), at Campion Hall, University of Oxford, with support from the British Province of the Society of Jesus.
This programme is primarily for Jesuits in formation. However, we will also consider applications from Jesuits who have taken final vows, as well as other religious and lay people who wish to deepen their commitment to integral ecology in a faith-based setting. If you are a previous participant of our summer school, we will consider your application, but priority will be given to new applicants. Please note that only Jesuits in formation are eligible to apply for financial assistance.
Exchange research, practices, and policy insights on integral ecology, exploring the intersection of faith, ecology and action
Reflect on integrating evidence-based practices into socio-ecological responses relevant to your own context
Visit agro-ecological, nature-preserved and agricultural sites in the UK to understand comparative approaches
Meet colleagues discerning mission in this area and foster collaboration among Jesuits in Formation and beyond
