Emerging Leaders in Agroecology: Henri de Laulanié Prize Finalists
25 June, 3:00-4:30 pm BST
Online Seminar
Listen to, and interact with, outstanding agroecology projects led by students around the world!
The fourth Down to Earth Dialogue will introduce the finalists of the Henri de Laulanié Prize, an international student prize recognising outstanding agroecological initiatives rooted in practice, learning and community engagement. Over the past three sessions, we have explored the spiritual foundations of agroecology, Indigenous and theological perspectives, and practical case studies from around the world. This final session turns towards the next generation. Finalist teams will present their projects, share their experiences, and discuss the opportunities and challenges of developing agroecological initiatives through research, formation and entrepreneurship. Sr Mūmbi Kīgūtha, CPPS, will guide the conversation. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the finalists, ask questions, and reflect on how these projects might inspire similar initiatives in their own contexts. Named after Fr Henri de Laulanié SJ, whose work contributed to the development of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI), the prize seeks to recognise student-led agroecological innovation rooted in ecological integrity, social impact and practical action.
Stay tuned for the future Down to Earth Dialogues!
